Course: Fast Track A-level Physics · 24–28 August 2026

Excel in A-level Physics. From day one.

For ambitious students going into A-level Physics.

This one-week course equips students with the skills and confidence that separate the top A-level students. It's created for students aiming for an A or A* and a place at a top university.

Dr James Faulkner
Taught by Dr James Faulkner, PhD in Physics (University of Cambridge), GCSE and A-level Physics teacher.

Students excel in A-level Physics by applying the content they learn to new problems. That requires a set of foundational skills we call multiplier skills, which are seldom explicitly taught in classrooms. This course teaches these skills, so students can:

Students who start A-levels with these skills have a substantial advantage. They learn more deeply, feel more confident, and develop the familiarity and comfort with exam-style questions to excel long before they reach final exams.

Meet your teacher

Dr James Faulkner
Dr James Faulkner

James completed his PhD in Physics at the University of Cambridge, after placing first in his Masters of Physics cohort. He teaches GCSE and A-level Physics at a top-100 UK school, has extensive experience tutoring students in physics and mathematics, and has helped students be accepted to Oxford and Cambridge.

Through this course students will

  1. 1Join a 1-on-1 call with James beforehand to discuss their goals and progress so far (you are welcome to attend)
  2. 2Understand the structure and rationale of the A-level syllabus, and be motivated by what studying physics unlocks for them
  3. 3Find and address any gaps in foundational GCSE knowledge that would otherwise hamper ongoing learning
  4. 4Learn the skills that distinguish top students and that help them learn, understand, and apply what they're taught in A-levels
  5. 5Apply them to real A-level exam questions, building confidence before they even start
  6. 6Practise on problems personalised to their strengths and gaps
  7. 7Keep a written skill guide and session recordings they can refer back to later
  8. 8Leave with a feedback report on exactly which syllabus points and skills to focus on, for you, teachers and tutors to use

Free session: Understanding A-level Physics

You will hear that A-level is a big step up from GCSE, but what does that jump actually look like? In this free 60-minute session, James will explain what changes at A-level and why it catches strong students out. He will introduce the skills and ways of thinking this jump demands, and work through real A-level exam questions live so you can see those skills in practice. Students and parents are welcome.
